International Student’s Career Path After Graduation
Be an active global human!
Be an active global human!
What kind of work are you doing?
I work for the Security Service Sales Department at IBM Security. In this department, we always need to meet with the global team to gain new information and learn about new services in order to spread the information to the local community here in Japan. I also help sell our security services to Japanese clients. Through talking with our clients, I noticed that the most important quality required for IT service sales is not IT skills, but communication skills. By getting into the mind of the client, we are able to understand what they are thinking and propose what they need.
What was your college life like?
In the College of Intercultural Communication(CIC), we were able to learn different ideas from each other and have discussions without getting stuck on stereotypes. This motivated me to improve my English as well as my communication skills. I think CIC is the best place for foreign students. I would like to say thank you once again to the students and professors at CIC for understanding the diversity of the students.
Do you have a message for people interested in applying to this college?
The College of Intercultural Communication at Rikkyo University is a community that respects individual identity. By studying at CIC, you will be able to value your own feelings and beliefs, and you can be an active, global person in any field. In Japan, or wherever you go, I think that you will be able to develop your own color-internationally and have a richer future with more choices.
This college provided me with the motivation to work worldwide.

What kind of work are you doing?
I work at a Japanese company called Konami Amusement Co., Ltd., which is an amusement machine maker. In the game industry, there are various kinds of companies, such as publishers and developers. The company that I work for is a general game company covering everything from game planning, to manufacture, sale, and promotion. I am assigned to the Global Business Development Office as a customer service contact for customers in Asia.
What was your college life like?
As well as attending classes, I took part in various kinds of volunteer activities inside and outside the university in order to experience different sides of Japanese society. One of the volunteer activities, called English Camp, left a strong impression on me. It is an English education program organized by the College of Intercultural Communication and it connects foreign students at the college with local elementary school students in Toshima Ward. This activity provided me with a chance to come into contact with people from the local community, which was a valuable experience.
Do you have a message for people interested in applying to this college?
This college provided me with not only the knowledge of a foreign language and different cultures, but also with the motivation to work worldwide and continue to experience the unknown world. I hope you will also find a new way here.
